4. Which website/news feed do you get your news from?
BBC News/social media
As a young child, I remember shielding myself from whatever I didn't like in this world, and this would involve avoiding the news as much as possible. However, I quickly realised that I need to know what's going on, I need to be educated and understand what's wrong in this world and the people suffering. To not be ignorant.
So I learnt not to ignore the news and although I may not spend my evenings watching the 10 o'clock news every night, I still try and keep updated and with bbc news on my phone, this is simple and easy. I would say that bbc news is probably one of the most reliable sources but I never look at just one. It's so easy with the phones and the internet to look at a headline and then do further research, using multiple sources, which I sometimes will do.
Moreover, I don't just recieve news updates from the news websites but probably most frequently from social media sites, like instagram and snapchat.
The social media platform is a quick and easy way to recieve information. An advantage of social media for me is that it is unlikely you'll only read one version of what's happening, instead you can read and view many different opinions. This could however, result in not reading the whole story as there is likely to be bias and therefore, make it unreliable. Nevetheless, social media sites like Instagram, are considered a good way for people, especially this generation where the majority of us in the UK have social media accounts, to stay informed. Moreover, like I previously metioned, people often post their views and perpectives for people to read. As a result, I feel it may lead to people becoming more open minded and understanding if they have the opportunity to see the different opinions people have.
